The Dota 2 EPICENTER Major 2019 just came to an end, and fans got to saw a really thrilling final.  Although Liquid gave their best performance, they were still no match for Vici Gaming as they were the ones who emerged victorious. At first, everyone thought that it will be over soon after Liquid won’t their first game. However, everyone was surprised when both teams had to play five games.

The Grand Finals

During the first match, Liquid played really well. Amer “Miracle” Al-Barkawi, one of Liquid’s best players performed really well and he managed to help his team get the 1-0 lead. However, Vici Gaming then decided to play even more seriously in match two and they were able to get 26 kills and won.

With a 1-1 score, game three started. Everyone thought that Liquid is going to make a comeback, but that didn’t happen. Both sides showed aggressive gameplay, and no one could really tell who would win the third match. However, despite the fact that Liquid tried their very best, Vici Gaming won the match and took the lead. And now, as the score was 2-1, Liquid had to do something to get back in the game. During the fourth match, Vici Gaming was getting kills continuously, but Liquid was planning something else. They decided to give Miracle Arc Warden, something which helped them gain victory in the fourth match.

The Final Match

The fifth and final match then started. All the fans were fully focused on the match as they were eagerly waiting to know which team will emerge victorious. Both teams performed really well. However, Vici Gaming’s trio came forward and they crushed Liquid’s chances of winning. All of Vici’s players pushed Liquid to the end and claimed the title of champions with a 35-10 advantage. Although only Vici Gaming’s fans were able to celebrate, both sides still saw a really thrilling series of five games.

Prize Money

Vici Gaming won the first prize and took home the $350,000 prize money. On the other hand, Team Liquid got the second-place prize money, that was around $170,000. For those who don’t know, this was Vici Gaming’s second Major win, and they have also managed to achieve third place in the DPC Rankings. This means that the team is now below Team Secret and Virtus Pro. The EPICENTER Major 2019 was also the last event in the Dota 2 2018-19 professional circuit.

On the other hand, The International 2019 is all set to be held from August 15 till 25. It is currently believed to be one of the biggest Esports events of this year. Recently, it was revealed that its prize pool has surpassed $25 million and is currently expected to reach $30 million before the event begins. Fans all over the world are eagerly waiting to see how their favorite team will perform in the TI9.
