PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently one of the most popular battle royale titles out there. The game is developed by PUBG Corp and was released back in 2017. Shortly after its debut, the game attracted a lot of players as it featured a unique and thrilling gameplay experience. Even some other developers started copying the concept of PUBG and tried to produce games like it, but eventually failed to reach the place of the original game. And now, it seems like the hard work of the developers has paid off as they managed to generate a lot of revenue in the last year.

PUBG Corps 2018 Revenue

Recently, an analyst who goes by the name ZhugeEx on Twitter shared some revenue details of PUBG Corp, revealing that the developers made a good chunk of money in 2018. According to the details, PUBG Corp earned around $920 million in revenue. Not only this but even after clearing all the taxes and other expenses, the company was still left with around $310 million in terms of profit.

PC Top Platform for The Revenue

Without any surprise, the PC platform managed to generate the most revenue as it brought a total of $790 million to the company. On the other hand, the consoles didn’t bring in a lot of money as only $60 million were generated through them. Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile also proved to be a success, as it brought around $65 million.

One thing to keep in mind here is that the mobile version of the game is not owned by PUBG Corp. For those who don’t know, PUBG Mobile is basically owned by Tencent Games. This means that the majority of the $65 million revenue which the mobile version made went to Tencent, while PUBG Corp should’ve only enjoyed some fees.

Asian Market Is the Biggest For PUBG

In addition to this, we also got to see which Region contributed the most to the total revenue. Interestingly, Asia proved to be PUBG’s biggest market, as the region contributed a total of 53% to the revenue. This isn’t surprising considering the fact that the game is really popular in Asia, and millions of players log into it daily in the said region. On the other hand, the Korean market is responsible for 10% of the total revenue, Europe is credited for 7.99%, while North and South America are accounted for 15.47%. The rest of the world contributed 12.55% in PUBG Corp’s total revenue of 2018.

In any case, the revenue is not that surprising considering the fact that PUBG is one of the most played games in the world. Even the top streamer on Twitch “Shroud” claimed that he is planning to leave some other battle royale titles so that he can play PUBG more. As the game is now even more popular than it was last year, it will be exciting to see how much money PUBG Corp makes in 2019.
