Dota 2 has a really huge esports scene. In fact, Valve hosts some of the biggest tournaments for it. The most popular tournament of Dota 2 is The International, an annual even known for featuring the biggest prize pools in the history of esports. These tournaments feature some of the biggest teams from all over the world. At the moment, there are hundreds of Dota 2 teams that compete on professional level. Some of them are on the top, while others are struggling to qualify for their favorite tournament. Nevertheless, these teams are the reason behind why the esports scene of the game is huge.
Every year, we get to see different teams making various changes to their rosters. Some add new players to their team, while others simply remove every player to create a new one. In a region like CIS, teams are always trying their best to improve their rosters by doubling it. However, this is the case with Winstrike Team as they have decided to go the other way.
No More Winstrike Dota 2 Team
Recently, it was announced that Winstrike team has decided to disband their roster. This was because of poor results. Considering Winstrike was not a really top team, it would’ve been common to see some roster changes. However, no one expected them to make such a big decision. It is quite rare to see a team drop all its players and coach, and that too in the middle of a really important season. This is something we get to see only before the season or after it ends. But Winstrike Team had some other plans as they have left everyone surprised with their decision.

The Main Reason
The reason behind the big decision is poor results. The Winstrike team formed a new roster with the addition of former Virtus.pro players Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan, and Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobki, but the results weren’t as expected. In fact, the team failed to qualify for any Dota Pro Circuit Events. They didn’t even manage to perform well during other events they participated in. But after they missed out the chance to qualify for the ESL One Los Angeles Major qualifiers, it was clearly seen by everyone that the team isn’t good for the game.
The sporting director for Winstrike, Andrej Kvasnevskij gave a statement in which he apologized too all the fans that supported their Dota 2 rosters. He also claimed that the only world to describe their recent performance was “awful.” Talking about splitting up with all five players, Andrej claimed that the path they choose in November failed to bring in any positive results. This is why they have decided to break up with their current roster, and all players are now free agents.
The sporting director also confirmed that they are now going to try a new approach to forming a line-up. However, he didn’t reveal when they are going to return to the Dota 2 scene with a new roster.
