Apex Legends was believed to become the best battle royale title when it was released back in February. Many players started claiming that the game will soon cross both Fortnite and PUBG in terms of viewership. However, it seems like that was not the case at all as the game’s viewership is slowly dying, and even some popular streamers are thinking about leaving the game.
Apex Legends Viewership Drops
According to various reports presented by some popular market watchers, such as Streamelements, Apex Legends viewership has dropped a lot since its debut. The report revealed that the game’s viewership has dropped by 75% on Twitch, something which has left many fans in a shocking state. When the game was released, its viewership was about 40 million hours. However, only after two months, those numbers have dropped down to around 10 million hours.
Dropping from 40 million hours to 10 million hours within two months is a massive drop for the game. It was once believed to become the best battle royale title, as it featured a new gameplay experience different than Fortnite and PUBG. However, those who believed this are surely left in a shocking state after seeing the viewership getting dropped to such low number.
Shroud Is Planning to Leave Apex Legends
In addition to this, Shroud has also claimed that he is soon going to leave Apex Legends. For those who don’t know, Shroud is one of the top streamers on Twitch who regularly streams his matches. In addition to this, he is one of those who contributed a lot to bringing viewers to Apex Legends when the game was released. However, it seems like the top streamer is now done with the game.
According to Shroud, he is planning to leave Apex Legends and will keep on playing PUBG instead because it has a better game state. The reason behind his decision might be the fact that Respawn Entertainment is not adding anything new in the game. Many players and streamers have complained about lack of content in the game, and some have even left it because of it. And now, Shroud is also one of those players who are slowly losing their interest in the game.
Issues with Apex Legends
Apex Legends is also filled with many bugs and glitches. The developers have tried fixing most of them, but new ones keep on coming to the surface. Recently, they even tried to fix the hitbox issue of Caustic and Gibraltar through the recent update, but the issue is still present after it. The game is also filled with hackers who are ruining the experience of many players.
Many fans are currently hoping to see some new content in the game. Respawn Entertainment is slow when it comes to adding content in its game. We haven’t seen any major update since the one which added Octane, and players are now getting tired of waiting. Respawn will have to do something quickly if they want to regain their viewership back.
