Rumors had been circulating about the new update since mid-April about new icons that Valve may release anytime soon. It was 4th May when the developers gave the go-ahead to roll out the latest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive patch for end-users. New icons that were added to the game were instantly noted by the gaming society. These beautiful new additions included a blind kill, no scope, and a kill through the smoke.

Before that, the available icons showed different types of kills some of which included headshots, flash assists, wall bangs, molly deaths, and nade kills. While the new update brought in some more details into the type of kill somebody gets. The players will now have more exciting ways to look into a kill they get or when they get killed themselves; an annoying sniper killing them top mid or killing someone after detonating a smoke grenade.
In addition to the icons, Valve made some other notable changes to the gameplay, UI, and especially to the maps and more importantly to the recently added Chlorine as well in the latest update. A few are listed below:
- Stability fixes
- Updated third-person pose for G3SG1
- sv_pure servers got the authority to kick players that have loaded additional asset files in the game memory
- For Chlorine, Game performance optimization
- Radar image update
- Improved visibility
- Removed wall bangs
- Size of the bomb plant zone on A site increased
- Optimizing bombsite A so that the bomb would not get stuck on the pillars any more
- Pixel fixed on the bombsite B
- Ambient light and other lighting fixes
- Foliage models from the map removed
- Bamboo fences added in the high traffic areas
- See-through stairs near the CT spawn
In the wingman mode on Inferno, the Valve developers have included a 1 v 1 warmup area. This new warmup inclusion has been taken as a good step by the players. A few minutes of warmup duel is a good and fun way to get things started. The players are urging the developers to consider adding similar duels for competitive matches as well.
Opportunities for new betting markets
It is interesting to note that the new update may open up a variety of betting markets. It will be a nice opportunity for the bookmakers to enable the users to select from a variety of betting options. Moreover, predictions can also be improved using the patch statistics and teams’ performance based on it.
