First time in the history of eSports English Premier League has been launched as an official competition. Recently finished, the competition comprised of UK based FIFA19 players going against each other in an online qualification before they were called up by respective Premier League clubs for live playoffs to filter out two of their best players to represent their clubs in the ePremier League Final.

Each Premier League club screened out two FIFA19 players representing the club in a separate categories, one for Xbox One and the other for PlayStation4, battling out live at the Gfinity Arena, London for the first ever ePremier League title.

On 28thMarch 2019, the ePremier League kicked off where all the 40 players from each club were put in to a group stage format to compete against each other. It was followed by Knockout Stages and a Final for each console (Xbox One and PS4). After the console finals had concluded, it was time for cross console Grand Final to decide the ePremier League Champion.

Among all the 40 players was the 17 year old Donovan Hunt (F2Tekkz) Xbox One player who was playing for Liverpool, the club he supported since boyhood. F2Tekkz went into the competition with huge chances of winning it but he lost the very first game of his against Manchester City. But he bounced back in an extraordinary fashion winning every game after that loss.

Hunt’s road to the Grand Final had everything to look back to, featuring last minute winner, drama in the extra-time, amazing comebacks and outstanding performances when in the Xbox final he was down to 2-0 against Fulham but came back hard to win it with a score of 3-4 at the final whistle.

In the cross console Grand Final against Manchester United’s Kyle Leese, F2Tekkz’s team opened the score with the help of Virgil Van Dijk’s header from the corner early in the game before defeating Manchester United 6-2 in a humiliating manner. Kyle Leese (KyleLeese_) from Manchester, though had lost the Grand Final but gave some impressive performances to reach to that stage one among them was the PS4 final against Jas1875 of Chelsea.

Liverpool winning the first ever ePremier League courtesy eSports star F2Tekkz who was evidently overjoyed to lift the ePL trophy specially for the club he had always loved, and hope that Liverpool wins in real this year too. He said that it feels really good to have my hands on the premier title, it was obvious that the first ever ePL champion will be on top of the leaderboard and will be talked about for many years to come, so I made my mind to win it at any cost.

He added, that he had been supporting Liverpool since his boyhood, and playing a really close Xbox Final against Fulham and winning it made him believe that he has overcame the jinx which will help Liverpool win the Premier League in real and will help them to overcome Porto in the UEFA Champions League going all the way to win it too. But most importantly, Hunt has won Liverpool a Premier League title in a long time.

Doovan Hunt has developed name in scoring late goals in this competition, and in the Xbox final we saw him scoring a very late 122ndminute winner against Fulham with Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He stated that his partner told him to substitute Calvert-Lewin as he was deadly in the air, so he subbed him for a glorious header winning him a spot in the Grand Final.

With this win, 850 points has been added to F2Tekkz’s point tally making his overall points go beyond 9000 Global Series Points. With this many points he has certainly qualified for the biggest FIFA eSports event yet to come, the FIFA eWorld Cup. But till now he is leading the FIFA ePremier League leaderboard with the first ever Premier League title for Liverpool in many years.
