CS:GO is the kind of game that allows you to take down enemies while using different weapons. From SMGs to Snipers, you get the luxury to choose from a wide range of weapons. However, the game’s meta is unbalanced right now because of a scoped rifle. The SSG 553, popularly known as the Krieg, is currently one of the most used weapons in the game. It is available for the Terrorist side and is being used by many professional players. However, there is something wrong with the gun that Valve needs to fix.

The Krieg

Considering what has happened with previous weapons, Krieg’s meta will remain the same for the next few months. After that, Valve will make some changes to it. However, the thing which is bothering players isn’t its meta but it is actually the economy.  For those who don’t know, during the StarSeries i-League season eight tournament, players preferred buying the Krieg for the first time rather than the AK-47. However, professional players aren’t happy with this because of some big reasons.

Last week, Nicolai “device” Reedtz, who is regarded as one of the best snipers in CS:GO, claimed that he isn’t sure whether it’s worth buying the AWP or not because he had a really hard time playing against the Krieg. Aside from this, another professional player Robin “ropz” Kool stated that he finds it much easier to take down players using AWP with Krieg. While this gun may prove to be really useful during these situations, it is ruining the economy.

How It Is Ruining the Economy

During a match, whenever the T-side loses the pistol round but secures a bomb plant in it, they can easily buy the Krieg. For those wondering, you get $1900 for losing the round, $800 for planting the bomb, and around $300 for every player that you kill. In most situations, a player has $3,450-50 after a round ends. This is something that allows the T-side to buy two or three Kriegs. This is something that puts the CT-side at a disadvantage because they will portably play with two rifles and three SMGs.

What Should Valve Do

When they have two to three Kriegs, the T-side can easily eliminate SMG players in long-range combat. There is no way for the CT-side’s SMG players to eliminate the Krieg users from a far distance. In order to avoid this, Valve should raise the price of the weapon from $2750 to $3150. This will make it a little difficult for the T-side players to force buy the Krieg in the second round. While this won’t guarantee that the players will use the weapon less often, it will still make a difference.

On the other hand, Team Liquid’s Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken claimed that Valve should transform the Krieg into a semi-automatic gun. According to him, there is no semi-automatic gun in CS:GO yet and Krieg should be the first one. He further added that this is also the only way to not ruin the gun entirely. In any case, all we can do is wait and see what Valve has in mind for the powerful weapon.
