The Fortnite World Cup Finals came to an end three days ago. The event was surely one of the biggest esports events of this year, and fans all over the world enjoyed it. We saw a lot of new players competing during the finals and all of them played really well. However, there was one player who could take the first prize, and that was Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf.
The 16-year-old player left everyone surprised when he won the Solo finals and became the best Fortnite Solo player in the world. The latter proved everyone wrong and won the $3 million prize money, $3,025,900 to be exact. And now, it seems like the latter has managed to earn another achievement aside from becoming the best solo player of Fortnite.
Bugha Takes The 10thSpot
Recently, it was revealed that Bugha is now one of the top 10 highest earning esports players. That’s right, his win at the finals has helped him surpass thousands of players and he now sits at the 10thspot in the list of highest earning esports players. Not only this, but he is the only Fortnite player in the top 10 all of the rest are from Dota 2. He surely deserved this spot considering how well he performed during the finals.
For those who didn’t get the chance to watch him play, Bugha won the finals with around 59 points. There was a total of 6 matches and the latter took the lead right from the start. Although he didn’t play as amazing as he did at the start, he still managed to stay in the lead. On the other hand, Harrison “Psalm” Chang got the second placed by scoring 33 points and walked with $1.8 million. This means that Bugha basically scored almost double of what the second-place player scored.
He Will Need to Keep on Winning
One thing to keep in mind here is that Bugha will need to keep on winning upcoming tournaments if he wants to stay in the top 10 list. At the moment, Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi has the crown when it comes to highest earning esports players as the Dota 2 player has earned around $4.2 million in his career. The majority of this money came from The International 2017, where his team won the $10.8 million prize money. This year’s edition of The International is also around the corner, so let’s see whether someone will surpass Bugha or not.
In any case, it’s amazing to see that a lot of new players got the chance to showcase their skills to the world through the World Cup Finals. The fifth-place winner KING, who walked away with $900,000, claimed that his mother has always been against his decision of gaming all the time. However, his recent performance in the finals has changed her mother’s opinion.
