Apex Legends season 2 is about to go live in a few hours. Fans all over the word are absolutely excited for it. In the meantime, Respawn has decided to reveal some interesting details about the Ranked Mode that will be introduced with the upcoming season. Community manager of Apex Legends, Jay Frechette basically made a post on Reddit where he previewed the Ranked Mode.

How Ranked Leagues Will Work in Season 2 of Apex Legends from r/apexlegends

Different Tiers

To begin with, the Ranked Mode will feature a ladder system consisting of six different tiers, that are; Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Apex Predator. Excluding Apex Predator, every other tier will have four extra divisions. For example, the Silver tier will be divided into Silver IV, Silver III, Silver II, and Silver I. Each tier will begin from IV and you will have to complete all four divisions before moving on to the next tier.

As this is going to be first ever Ranked Mode season, every player will begin with Bronze IV once season two goes live. However, keep in mind that whatever rank you achieve will matter in the future seasons. For example, if you’re at the Platinum tier when season 2 ends, then chances are that you will have the same rank when the next season will begin. In addition to this, you also don’t have to worry about getting demoted. The developers have confirmed that players will not get demoted to lower tiers regardless of how many times they lose a match.

Scoring System

On the other hand, there is going to be a scoring system through which players will be able to climb the rank ladder. There will be Ranked Points, or RP, which will be awarded to a player based on how he will perform. If you eliminate an opponent, you will get one RP. But if you manage to become the Champion, you will get 12 RP. In addition to this, Respawn has also confirmed that getting placed in the top 10, top five, or top 3 will also earn you RP.

How Matchmaking Will Work

Respawn has also decided to take some action against those players who abandon their teammates in the middle of the match. According to the developers, they are expecting players in Ranked Mode to show a higher level of commitment. Those who will abandon their teammates will receive a penalty. In addition to this, those players who are always looking to getting carried by high skilled players are also going to face some trouble in Ranked Mode. The matchmaking system is going to make sure that a high ranked player is matched with another similar player.

In any case, the Ranked Mode is surely going to give a new meaning to a game. Players have been waiting to see something like this since the game was released. Along with the Ranked Mode, players are going to see a lot more when season 2 goes live.
